Dopo la prima avanguardia del Novecento, dove alcuni artisti iniziarono a sperimentare l’arte in fotografia, sul finire degli anni Cinquanta tutto nell’arte cambiò con la presenza ampia e in diversi stili del Concettuale, ed a seguire, con artisti che utilizzavano il proprio corpo per fare arte, la così detta Body Art, iniziata con l’Azionismo Viennese e seguita da personalità artistiche come Gina Pane, fino alle opere corporali estreme di Marina Abramovic, che chiudono il primo periodo storico dell’arte del corpo nel declinare del Moderno.
Risalendo gli anni Settanta, nel così detto Postmoderno, molti Critici d’arte proposero il ritorno alla Pittura, il “Ritorno all’ordine” che fu accettato da quasi tutti gli artisti di quel periodo anni Ottanta, e dai Galleristi interessati ad esporre e vendere la nuova arte d’Avanguardia.
Tutta questa confusione, continuò sino ai primi anni Novanta e finì, dopo la dichiarazione di pentimento fatto dallo Storico e Critico d’arte Giulio Carlo Argan, per aver partecipato al ritorno dell’arte pittorica.
Anche se la pittura nell’arte rimarrà sempre come base culturale e formativa, in opposizione a quella semplicistica teoria, negli ultimi anni Settanta si schierarono alcuni artisti che credevano diversamente, alla continuità in progress dell’arte contemporanea, in una società dove iniziavano a svilupparsi i nuovi media di comunicazione. Con questa idea si impegnarono a studiare un nuovo linguaggio artistico che, presso lo Studio 74 con la creazione di un multilinguaggio, venne creata la Videoperformance ed a seguire, in quei primi anni Settanta anche l’arte in fotografia.
In questi anni Duemila, le nuove generazioni artistiche continuano a realizzare arte mediale in video e fotografia utilizzando artisticamente un nuovo strumento come il computer.
Nel 2011 l’artista G. Sturli, già pioniere dell’arte mediale, con Paola Zucchello apre la prima Galleria d’arte online, presentando annualmente quattro mostre internazionali:
La Videoperformance, Art&Photography, Onda Mediale e Art&Computer come personale. Oggi dopo tutte le esposizioni fatte, l’Art Web Gallery è seguita da migliaia di artisti e osservatori d’arte contemporanea, mentre l’arte mediale è accettata in Studi avanzati presso Licei d’arte, Accademie e Università. In questa attuale esposizione di Art&Photography 2024, l’Art Web Gallery presenta nella mostra i seguenti artisti:

After the first avant-garde of the twentieth century, where some artists began to experiment with art in photography, in the late 1950s everything in art changed with the wide presence and in different styles of Conceptual, and to follow, with artists who used their bodies to make art, the so-called Body Art, which began with Viennese Actionism and was followed by artistic personalities such as Gina Pane, up to the extreme bodily works of Marina Abramovic, which closed the first historical period of body art in the decline of Modern.
Going back to the 1970s, in the so-called Postmodern, many Art Critics proposed a return to Painting, the "Return to Order" that was accepted by almost all artists of that 1980s period, and by Gallerists interested in exhibiting and selling the new Avant-Garde art. All this confusion, continued until the early 1990s and ended, after the declaration of repentance made by the Art Historian and Critic Giulio Carlo Argan, for participating in the return of pictorial art.
Although painting in art will always remain as a cultural and formative basis, in opposition to that simplistic theory, in the late 1970s some artists took sides who believed differently, in the continuity in progress of contemporary art, in a society where new communication media were beginning to develop. With this idea they undertook to study a new artistic language that, at Studio 74 with the creation of a multilingual, Videoperformance was created and to follow, in those early 1970s also art in photography. In these 2000s, new artistic generations continue to make media art in video and photography artistically using a new tool such as the computer.
In 2011, artist G. Sturli, already a pioneer of medial art, with Paola Zucchello opened the first online Art Gallery, presenting four international exhibitions annually:
La Videoperformance, Art&Photography, Onda Mediale and Art&Computer as a solo show. Today after all the exhibitions done, the Art Web Gallery is followed by thousands of artists and observers of contemporary art, while medial art is accepted in Advanced Studies at Art High Schools, Academies and Universities. In this current exhibition of Art&Photography 2024, the Art Web Gallery presents the following artists in the exhibition:
